George Lundberg, MDThe American Health Initiative (AHI) is pleased to announce that George D. Lundberg, MD will act as Honorary National Chairman of its national healthcare reform project and will serve as chairman of the advisory board for TAP-IN.

Dr. Lundberg is currently Editor in Chief of Medscape Core and Editor in Chief of eMedicine. He is particularly noted for his skilled editorial leadership of the Journal of the American Medical Association over a seventeen year period, covering some of the most dramatic transformations in American health care. He is widely published in the scientific and lay press and appears frequently on national television with respect to health care issues.

Throughout his distinguished career Dr. Lundberg has maintained a critical focus on issues essential to effective reform of our health care system. His views on the issues and directions for change have been thoughtfully addressed in his recent book, “Severed Trust-Why American Medicine Has Not Been Fixed.” Chapter 11 of the 2002 paperback edition offers a prescription for a "new" US healthcare system. Dr. Lundberg’s leadership, credibility, and understanding of the issues are expected to significantly facilitate the completion of AHI’s objectives.
